" I cannot TELL you how much we enjoyed Les Murets!! It truly was the highlight of the trip. The house was beautiful, charming, well stocked and in a great location. Also, it's hard to capture in photos the feeling of love, warmth and joy in the house!! Les Murets has been well enjoyed for many years and has fabulous energy about it. The owner has an older couple that live down the street, the Chamberts, who were incredible helpful and darling. I arrived with an ear infection and Madame Chambert had me in the doctors within the morning! While I was taking it easy Peter, my husband, played Boules with Francis the husband caretaker and even though Peter knows only a little French and Francis NO English....they had a wonderful time together. The romantic dinner was one of the best of the week....the food was excellent. We had originally been told that Youcef was going to cook for us and when we arrived at the house another man named Claude was there and he was a treasure. We talked and talked with him and enjoyed his company as well as his cooking. You should know the owner of Les Murets left an amazingly comprehensive itinerary, maps, shopping suggestions and every other information you could possibly want to know about the area. It was very helpful and we took her beautiful book everywhere we went and dined at many of the restaurants she suggested and they were marvelous. We had a magnificent anniversary and can't wait to go back with our children some day! We adored the entire country from Paris to Avigon to Aix to the small hill top towns of Gordes, Bonnieaux and Lourmarin. We were treated so warmly by all the local people and adore them and their culture immensely. Thank you for your help and care in arranging a memorable vacation! "

Les Murets is a superb 4,000 sq ft hillside villa with open views of the entire Luberon region.

Situated on 7.5 acres of land, this beautiful home is planted with green oaks and enclosed with stone walls. Outside is a heated pool with a power stream accessed by stairs. There is also a tennis court, a pool house with BBQ, bar, terrace, and carport.

You enter Les Murets through a large entrance hall, which leads to a living room equipped with a TV, VCR, DVD player, Hi-Fi system, fire place and dining area. The mezzanine is complete with a study with a fax machine and telephone. The fully equipped professional kitchen has oven, dishwasher, US fridge and freezer. The laundry room has a washing machine. On the same level are 2 double bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.

Upstairs is 1 double bedroom with a terrace and bathroom. Adjoined is the guest house with kitchen, bathroom, and Living room mezzanine

Additional Information

Guests generally arrive in Paris at Charles de Gaulle airport (CDG) and transfer to the high speed TGV train headed for Avignon (approx. 2h40m). Once in Avignon, a rental car is suggested to drive to the villa.
Other options include flying into Marseille (MRS) or Nice (NCE) and then renting a car.
There is also a small airport in Avignon that has some flights from London and can also accommodate private jets
